A Guinness World Record

Harvey's Honey is a family operation and the Harvey children have all worn a bee beard at some time to demonstrate how harmless bees can be when treated properly.

In 1982, a world record was set at the Harvey's Honey Farm. Max Beck volunteered to put on the world's largest bee beard. He was covered from head to feet with several colonies of honeybees. His cousin, Joyce, a reporter for CNN Television at the time, covered the event for posterity. Both Max and Joyce are related to the Harveys.

An Austrian newspaper clipping (right)shows Max getting a kiss from his mother.

The record still stands!
